DJ Home Movies In this release, Dissident will giving a 101 on how to create praiseworthy juxtaposed tempos. First, you make some hefty basslines fit for dub electronica, then you drop some precise beats fit for modern jungle, and piece them together perfectly. Best example is "Mermaid In Oil Slick", sliding between paced breaths and rapid riptides. Not sure if I should be bobbing my head at 90 or moving my feet at 180. It's a good kind of problem to have! Favorite track: Mermaid In Oil Slick.

Dissident is a left-field drum&bass project created by Stanislav Sevostyanikhin. Based in St.Petersburg with more than 20 years experience in the music industry. Although his forte is primarily breakbeat oriented style, Stan has never restricted his music to one particular genre, creating a self-sufficient artificial ecology of bleak soundscapes and complex rhythm mechanics.
